Dwarf Burford’ Holly, also known as Burdordii Nana, is a I. cornuta cultivar. It is an evergreen shrub that shares many characteristics of the ‘Burfordii’ cultivar, but is smaller and more compact in form. ‘Dwarf Burford’ is commonly used as a specimen or planted in small groups or used as a hedge.  Female ‘Dwarf Burford’ plants are parthenocarpic (able to produce fruit without pollination), grow rapidly, and are easily transplanted. The red berries and beautiful evergreen leaves persist through winter, giving it a great winter interest in a landscape.  It is a great selection for the south because once established it withstands heat and some drought. The shrub is fast-growing and, dense, and can grow up to 9 or 10 feet.

Dwarf oyster is a slow to moderate grower that grows in any light but does best in part shade to partial sun.

The variegated variety needs partial shade.

These plants only get about 8 inches tall. They do best in Zone 10 and areas of Zone 9B that border Zone 10, especially in a protected spot.

Fakahatchee Grass (tripsacum dactyloides), alternately also referred to as Eastern Gamagrass, is an extremely popular Florida native ornamental grass. This grass is evergreen in sub-tropical areas and has bright green blades with a serrated edge. They grow in rounded clumps reaching 5-6 feet in height and 4-6 feet wide in Florida. There is also a Dwarf Fakahatchee Grass (Tripsacum floridanum) which can reach heights of around three feet.
