How Often Should You Change a Lawn Mower Air Filter?

Changing the air filter in your lawnmower is an important part of maintaining a healthy and safe environment. A clogged or dirty air filter can cause your engine to overheat, not run efficiently, pollute the environment, and could even be a fire hazard. Not changing it regularly can also lead to costly repairs!

Cleaning or replacing the air filter is one of the easiest lawn mower maintenance tasks and will help your mower perform better and last longer.

The answer to this question depends on how often you use your lawnmower. If you only cut the grass once every couple of weeks then may only have to change the air filter once per year.

However, if you are cutting grass more than twice per week then it may be best for you to change your air filter monthly since they will get dirtier quicker due to all that dust from running around with it all day long.

In general, it is best to clean the foam pre-cleaner every 25 operating hours. You should replace your air filter once per season or after you have put 300 hours on it.

Frequent dust conditions may warrant more frequent cleaning and replacement of the lawn mower air filter.
