Our Story
Luis (Lou) Silva founded Sod Depot in January of 2015. Mr. Silva owned and operated a Commercial Landscape Business and became frustrated with his Landscape Supply vendor’s inability to provide products in stock and customer service. Loving a challenge, he decided to tackle this need on his own. Lou purchased an existing location struggling with sales but providing Landscape Supply and got to work on infrastructure, communication, and value for his customers. He eventually left the maintenance world and went full-time into the retail world, opening a second location which led to the Franchising of the Brand as we know it today.
